Design Management is a business discipline that uses project management, design, strategy, and supply chain techniques to control a creative process, support a culture of creativity, and build a structure and organisation for design.
PDG assists the owner in soliciting the project architect. In this effort, we are responsible for monitoring the budget and acting as the owner’s representative to make sure the architect is designing the project within established budget and schedule parameters. We conduct design and constructability reviews and provide value engineering recommendations and determines whether it would be beneficial to organize the project into separate prime contracts. For public clients, PDG solicits and prequalifies general contractors, establishes the bid process, holds pre-bid conferences, coordinates the bid opening and assists the owner in awarding the project. When working with private owners, PDG assists in selecting the most qualified contractors, then competitively pricing the project for contract award.
